Family 1 of 8
Motorhome and Coach Repair
Motorhome and coach repair covers Class A, Class B, Class C and Super C units plus bus conversions. The coach body is a separate laminated structure bolted to a Ford F53, Freightliner XC, Spartan K2 or cutaway chassis, so collision damage almost always crosses the joint between the two and has to be scoped as both.
How this family is built
- Laminated sidewall over an aluminum tube frame on a Ford F53, Freightliner XC or Spartan K2 chassis, with the coach bolted to the rails rather than integral to them.
- Class A gas coaches sit on a Ford F53 rail chassis with the engine forward, so the front cap has steel under it and a low speed hit stops at the bumper beam more often than not.
- Class A diesel pushers use a Freightliner XC or XCR, a Spartan K2 or K3, or a Prevost H3-45 shell, with the radiator and charge air cooler filling the rear cap and no structure in front of the front cap but a fiberglass mask.
- Class C and Super C coaches keep an OEM cab: an E-450 or 4500 cutaway on the light end, a Freightliner M2 106 or Ram 5500 on the Super C end, with a bonded fiberglass cabover built onto the factory cab roof.
- Front and rear caps are molded fiberglass pulled from the coach builder's own tooling, hung on aluminum framing, and are the two most impact prone assemblies on the vehicle.
- Exterior finish is either gel coat with applied vinyl decals or a full body paint with three to five stages, and the two are not interchangeable repairs.
- The roof is a single ply EPDM or TPO membrane, or one piece fiberglass on higher lines, laid over luan on aluminum bows with fourteen to thirty sealed penetrations.
- The floor is a bonded laminate deck on a welded steel or aluminum understructure, with slide room openings cut into the sidewall and the load rerouted around them.
- Slide rooms run Lippert through frame hydraulic, rack and pinion, or Schwintek in wall drives, and the drive type dictates both the failure mode and the parts channel.
- Basement compartments on a pusher are structural bays with bonded doors and gas struts, so a crushed compartment door frame is a body repair and not a trim swap.

Camper Repair
Camper repair covers truck mounted and folding units: slide in and flatbed truck campers, pop up tent trailers, hard side folding campers, teardrops, A-frames and rooftop shells. None of these carry their own chassis or suspension, so their loads run through a host truck bed, a lift mechanism or a short frame instead.
How this family is built
- A truck camper is a welded aluminum tube frame with a bonded fiberglass or lap seamed aluminum skin, carrying no axle, no suspension and no tongue of its own.
- All load on a slide in runs through the pickup bed floor and out through four corner tie down points, so the unit sees frame twist rather than axle travel.
- The cabover cantilevers three to five feet ahead of the bed with no support beneath it, which makes the lower front corner joint the highest stress seam on the unit.
- Pop up tent trailers use a shallow welded steel box frame, four telescoping corner posts, a cable and pulley or electric lift, an ABS or aluminum roof and canvas walls.
- Hard side folding campers and A-frames replace the canvas with hinged panels, so sealing depends on hinge line alignment and a ridge latch rather than on fabric tension.
- A teardrop is a monocoque: the plywood or composite shell is the structure, clad in aluminum or fiberglass, sitting on a short welded frame with no internal stud cage.
- Rooftop clamshell campers are aluminum or fiberglass boxes clamped to crossbars, so their real load path is the rack feet into the host vehicle roof rails.
- Overland and off-road campers use a welded steel subframe with a three point or pivot mount whose entire job is to let the host chassis twist without loading the box.
- Corner jacks are Rieco-Titan, Happijac or Atwood, tie downs are Torklift or Brophy, and both are frame mounted hardware rather than bolt on accessories.
- Dry weights run roughly 1,200 to 4,500 pounds with the loaded center of gravity intended to sit ahead of the host truck rear axle.

Fifth Wheel Repair
Fifth wheel repair covers king pin coupled towables: standard, bunkhouse, toy hauler, ultra lite and luxury destination units plus park models. A fifth wheel couples through a pin plate to a hitch inside the truck bed, which puts two to four tons of pin weight into a raised gooseneck frame section ahead of the axles.
How this family is built
- A welded steel I-beam main frame from Lippert or BAL with a raised gooseneck section forward, terminating in a bolted pin box and a pin plate that couples inside a pickup bed.
- Pin weight of 2,000 to 4,500 pounds enters at one point ahead of the axles, so the weld group where the upper deck beams meet the main rails is the most loaded joint on the unit.
- The bedroom floor sits eighteen to twenty four inches above the main floor, making the front cap a tall molded fiberglass shell wrapped around a room rather than a nose.
- Sidewalls are vacuum bonded gel coated fiberglass over block foam over luan or Azdel on a welded aluminum tube cage, with slide openings cut through that cage.
- Slide rooms run Lippert through frame hydraulic on large rooms, rack and pinion on mid size rooms, and Schwintek in wall drives on narrow rooms, each with its own failure signature.
- Running gear is Dexter or Lippert tandem or triple axles on leaf springs with equalizers and wet bolts, or upgraded to MORryde CRE3000 or an independent setup.
- Front landing gear is electric or hydraulic, and auto leveling is Lippert Level Up or Ground Control working six jacks against the frame rather than against the suspension.
- Toy hauler variants replace the rear wall with a ramp door, which is a structural opening plus a garage floor carrying tie down anchors and often a fuel station.
- Typical units run 30 to 45 feet with a GVWR of 12,000 to 22,000 pounds, so tire, hanger and equalizer condition is a structural question and not a maintenance footnote.
- Park models and luxury destination units use the same laminate and frame construction but are moved rarely, which shifts their failure mode from road fatigue to seal and UV exposure.

Trailer Repair
Trailer repair covers ball and gooseneck coupled towables: travel trailers, toy haulers, expandables, hybrids, destination units, off road trailers, tiny home trailers and enclosed cargo bodies. All of them run on two long frame rails with a tongue welded forward, and the body contributes almost nothing structurally.
How this family is built
- Welded steel or aluminum box frame with a bolted or riveted skin, no monocoque contribution from the body, so diagnosis of a body symptom starts underneath at the rails.
- Two main rails with crossmembers and an A-frame tongue welded forward to a ball coupler, or a bolted gooseneck riser coupling to a ball in the bed on the largest units.
- Stick and tin bodies are a welded aluminum stud cage with batt insulation and lap seamed corrugated aluminum screwed to the studs, so every fastener is a potential water path.
- Laminated bodies are vacuum bonded gel coated fiberglass over block foam over luan or Azdel on aluminum tube, which resists denting and fails by adhesive release instead.
- Riveted aluminum semi monocoque bodies, Airstream and its imitators, put real structural load into the skin, so a panel repair carries a rivet pattern and shear requirement.
- Roofs are single ply EPDM or TPO over luan on bows, or one piece fiberglass on higher lines, with the front and rear cap transitions as the highest risk seams.
- Axles are Dexter or Lippert, single or tandem, on leaf springs with equalizers and wet bolts, or on torsion axles where each wheel station acts independently.
- The underbelly is coroplast or a bonded panel enclosing the fresh water lines, tanks, vents and often the propane run, which is why a tire event becomes a plumbing job.
- Expandables and hybrids fold tent end beds out of the end walls, replacing a solid corner with a hinge line, a fabric seal and a latch system.
- Toy hauler trailers replace the rear wall with a ramp door, so the rear is a structural opening spanned by a header rather than a closed box corner.

Family 5 of 8
Sprinter and Camper Van Repair
Sprinter and camper van repair covers Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster and Ford Transit vans in cargo, high cube, Class B and full conversion form. These are steel unibodies, so the body ring carries the load instead of a frame, and a corner impact travels through the whole shell rather than stopping at a rail.
How this family is built
- A steel unibody with no separate frame, so the floor, sills, B-pillar, sliding door track, roof rails and rear aperture act as one continuous ring that carries every load.
- Sprinter NCV3 and VS30 rings mix high strength and ultra high strength steels, which makes sectioning location and weld type procedure gated rather than a matter of preference.
- Cutaway and cab chassis versions of the same van do have rails behind the cab, which is why a Class B on a 3500 cutaway is a different structural animal from the same van in cargo form.
- Ram ProMaster is a unitized front wheel drive body with a low flat floor and tall thin body sides that oil can, so panel repair on it is a shrinking and stress relief problem.
- Ford Transit uses a one piece high roof stamping and mixed steel grades, so a roof strike on a Transit is a structural repair even when it presents as a crease.
- Aftermarket high roofs are molded fiberglass caps bonded over a cut factory roof and sealed at a flange, so leaks on those vans are bond line failures rather than membrane failures.
- Pop tops are a hinged fiberglass lid over a fabric bellows cut into the roof, and the cut edge needs reinforcement or the opening ovals and the lid stops sealing.
- Side flares cut into the body sides to widen a sleeping platform modify the structural ring itself, and any later repair in that zone has to account for the modification.
- Conversion interiors bond or bolt cabinetry, panels, wiring and tanks directly to the sheet metal, so reaching the inside of a damaged panel means a documented interior teardown.
- Forward radar sits behind the lower fascia, the lane camera at the windshield and blind spot sensors in the rear quarters, so bumper, glass and quarter work all trigger recalibration.

Commercial Truck Repair
Commercial truck repair here means body, paint, structural and equipment install work on box, flatbed, reefer, curtain side, dump and tractor units. The cab, the frame and the body are three separate structures on these vehicles, so damage is scoped against whichever of the three actually moved.
How this family is built
- A ladder frame of two parallel steel C-channel rails with bolted or riveted crossmembers, under Freightliner, International, Hino, Isuzu, Kenworth, Peterbilt and Ford chassis.
- The cab is a separate assembly on isolators, so it can be damaged or replaced without disturbing the rails, and cab damage should never be quoted as frame damage.
- The body is a third structure bolted to the frame through mounting brackets, which means a body repair, a frame repair and a cab repair are three different scopes on one vehicle.
- Dry van box bodies are a cage of extruded aluminum posts and rails skinned in FRP or aluminum over a hardwood floor on steel crossmembers, with panels replaceable in sections.
- Refrigerated bodies are foamed in place polyurethane between FRP skins, so a puncture soaks the foam and a correct repair means cutting back to dry foam, refilling and then skinning.
- Roll up doors from Whiting or Todco are hinged panels on a track with a counterbalance spring, while swing doors carry load through hinges bolted into the rear corner posts.
- Liftgates from Maxon, Waltco and Thieman mount to the rear sill and the frame rails, so a gate that twists under load is usually reporting a sill or rail failure.
- Flatbed, stake and dump bodies are steel or aluminum decks on longitudinals with a headboard, rub rails and, on a dump, a hoist and subframe with a hinge group at the rear.
- Class 8 tractors carry fiberglass hoods, sleeper shells and aerodynamic fairings that are bolt on assemblies, so a hood strike is a panel and paint job rather than a structural one.
- None of the above includes driveline: we do not perform engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, drivetrain repair, DOT inspection or emission testing on any commercial unit.

Fleet and Municipal Vehicle Repair
Fleet and municipal vehicle repair covers body, paint, structural and equipment install work on ambulances, fire apparatus, school and transit buses, paratransit cutaways, refuse and utility trucks, sweepers and patrol units. Most of these are a purpose built body mounted to a chassis, so the body and the chassis are separate repair scopes.
How this family is built
- Almost every unit here is a purpose built body mounted to a chassis after it left the factory, which means two build records, two parts channels and two separate repair scopes.
- Type I ambulance modules are welded aluminum extrusion with bonded or riveted skins and eight to twelve compartment doors, bolted to a subframe on the rails through isolating mounts.
- Module mount condition drives module cracking: once mounts compress, the body takes chassis twist directly and cracks reappear near the compartment corners and the cab transition.
- Fire apparatus use a custom cab and a welded aluminum or stainless body with AMDOR or Robinson roll up shutters, a hose bed, ladder racks and a pump panel enclosure.
- School buses are body on frame: a formed steel cage with riveted or bolted steel panels in structural rub rail bands, so side repairs carry a documented rivet pattern.
- Transit buses are semi monocoque stainless or steel cages with bonded fiberglass exterior panels, so panel work is a bond line and laminate job rather than a fastener job.
- Paratransit and shuttle cutaways put a fiberglass and aluminum body on an E-450 or 4500 chassis, with a Braun or Ricon lift mounted through the floor and the door post.
- Refuse bodies from Heil, McNeilus or Labrie carry a hopper, packer and tailgate hinge group under heavy cyclic load, on Autocar, Peterbilt or Mack chassis.
- Bucket and utility trucks land an Altec or Versalift pedestal into a subframe over a Reading or Knapheide service body, so pedestal movement is a subframe repair.
- Patrol units are unibodies carrying an upfit, so after a pursuit impact the push bumper, partition and console mounting points are part of the structural repair, not accessories.
- None of that is mechanical: we do not perform engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, drivetrain repair, DOT inspection, emission testing or apparatus pump and aerial certification.

Specialty and Electric Vehicle Repair
Specialty and electric vehicle repair covers Rivian R1T and R1S trucks, electric delivery bodies, hybrid fleet units, armored vans and purpose built business bodies such as food trucks and clinic bodies. Structural aluminum, a load bearing battery pack or a custom interior each change the repair sequence before any panel is touched.
How this family is built
- Rivian R1T and R1S use a structural skateboard battery pack as the floor, with cast aluminum front and rear structures and aluminum body panels hung on them.
- With no engine bay forward, front impact energy on a skateboard platform loads castings and the pack front rail, so assessment follows a documented high voltage disable and isolation verification.
- Cast aluminum structures cannot be pulled back into shape: a damaged casting is a bolted, riveted and bonded section replacement at a manufacturer specified location or it is a replacement assembly.
- Aluminum panels require separated tooling and a separated work area, because steel particle cross contamination produces galvanic corrosion that surfaces as paint bubbling months later.
- Electric delivery bodies are aluminum intensive shells on a skateboard with large one piece composite panels, which makes section repair versus whole panel replacement the core economic decision.
- Hybrid fleet units carry both a conventional driveline and a high voltage system with orange cable routed along the rocker and under the floor, which is exactly where collision damage lands.
- Food trucks are step van or box bodies carrying a stainless interior, a roof penetrating exhaust hood, a generator compartment, a propane or diesel appliance train, water tanks and a shore power inlet.
- Clinic and workshop bodies add a lift mounted through the floor and door post, seamless welded flooring with a coved base, and interior racking whose loads run into the body posts.
- Armored vans carry 2,000 to 4,000 pounds of B4 through B6 opaque and transparent armor, so hinges, hinge pockets, glass frames and the body ring all run outside their original design assumptions.
- Across all of it we do not perform engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, drivetrain repair, high voltage battery pack rebuild or emission testing; the scope is structure, body, paint and equipment.

Call. The list above covers the families we see weekly, and it is not exhaustive. What actually determines whether we can take a vehicle is whether it fits in the building and whether the work is body, paint, structural, laminate, interior or onboard systems.
What we do not do, on any vehicle: chassis engine rebuild, transmission or drivetrain rebuild, DOT inspection certification, emission testing. No mobile service and no roadside service. The house generator is in scope; the engine that moves the vehicle is not.
Oversize is usually a yes rather than a no. A 45 foot coach with a toad fits, and if you need an oversize permit route we will tell you which approach has the fewest tight signalized turns.
