RV Collision Repair for Hacienda Heights Owners, Handled In One Building

RV collision repair is the repair of impact damage and the structure behind it. It begins with measurement rather than estimation, because the question that sets every hour and every dollar afterward is whether the chassis, the sidewall substructure and the cap framing are still inside factory tolerance or have moved.

A collision estimate written off photographs is a guess. On a passenger car that guess is usually close, because the structure is a known monocoque and the parts catalog is finite. On a 38 foot coach it is not close at all, because what sits behind the skin is a laminated sandwich wall bonded to aluminum or steel tube framing, sitting on a chassis built by one company, bodied by another, and modified on the line by whoever installed the slide rooms.

So the first thing that happens here is measurement. The coach goes on the bench, control points get read against the chassis manufacturer specification, and the difference between a $3,000 repair and a $40,000 repair shows up as numbers on a printout rather than as an opinion. That is also why the collision teardown estimate is priced at one hour of body rate, $210, and credited against an authorized repair. Real measurement costs labor, and labor is billed.

The second thing that matters is the parts channel. A rear cap for a 2019 coach is not a shelf item; it is a molded assembly that may be 8 to 20 weeks out from the coach builder, and the Lippert frame section under it may be available in three days. Which of those two facts governs your calendar determines whether this is a three week job or a five month one, and you should hear that at intake instead of in week six. OCRV Center holds 35,000 square feet in Yorba Linda, which is what makes it practical to keep a coach anchored on a frame bench through a long parts wait without stalling the rest of the schedule.

All collision work is performed at our Yorba Linda facility. Hacienda Heights owners are 18.4 miles out, 24 to 38 minutes on SR-60 west to Fullerton Rd. Structural measurement needs a level anchored floor and fixed reference, so this is not work anyone can legitimately perform at a customer location, and we do not offer it there.

Questions

Collision questions we answer at the counter

What is the first step after a collision with my RV?

Get the coach here and get it measured. Everything downstream depends on whether the structure moved, and that is a measurement rather than an opinion. The collision teardown estimate is one hour at $210, credited against an authorized repair, and it produces a printed control point comparison that both you and your carrier can rely on instead of a photo estimate that will be revised twice.

How is collision work different from panel and cosmetic repair?

Collision work starts with an impact event and a structural question. Panel and cosmetic repair starts with a surface. If something hit your coach, the structure gets measured before anyone talks about panels. If the damage is a hail dimple, a parking lot ding, a compartment door or cosmetic corrosion with no impact history, it belongs on the panel side of the shop and is priced differently.

Why does a collision repair on a coach take so much longer than on a car?

Parts. A car has a finite catalog with national distribution. A coach has a chassis from one company, a body from another, and molded caps and printed graphics produced to order for a specific model year. Frame and Lippert components arrive in days. A cap can be 8 to 20 weeks. The labor is rarely the schedule.

Do you work with my insurance carrier directly?

Yes. Work is billed direct with every major carrier, adjusters inspect at the facility with the teardown open, and supplements are documented with photographs and printed measurement data. Insurance billed jobs may be billed at carrier negotiated labor rates that differ from the posted retail rates. Insurance walk ins are welcome during business hours.

Can any of this happen at my location in Hacienda Heights?

No. Structural measurement requires a level anchored floor and fixed reference, welding is hot work that stays inside the shop, and ADAS calibration needs physical targets on a level floor under controlled lighting. All collision work happens at our Yorba Linda facility, 18.4 miles from Hacienda Heights, 24 to 38 minutes on SR-60 west to Fullerton Rd.
